Service Description

Only the home study option is currently available. I do not have a live course booked at this time. The Kentucky General Assembly mandates that many professionals, including certified and licensed social workers receive training in the recognition and prevention of pediatric abusive head trauma. Pediatric abuse head trauma, commonly referred to as Shaken Baby Syndrome, is a form of physical abuse that involves infants and young children, and often has a severe impact on development. This training is intended to assist with preventing pediatric abusive head trauma by providing information related to risks factors, diagnostics indicators, as well as prevention strategies for soothing infants and regulating the adults in a caregiving role. Objectives: 1.) Review Statistics of Abusive Head Trauma 2.) Define and Describe Abusive Head Trauma and Associated Injuries 3.) Gain better understanding of the anatomy of the infant head and brain 4.) Understand the range of outcomes for the victims of abusive head trauma 5.) Discuss risk factors and prevention of abusive head trauma, including soothing techniques to assist with prevention of pediatric abusive head trauma. This is a virtual training via Zoom. To receive CE credit cameras must remain on for the majority of the training.
